In the third room
The room of truth
Im Dritten Raum (In the third room) was an specialist course given in bauhaus university. Following some chapters from “Gegen null | Eine mathematische Phantasie” and Nachmittag eines Fliesenlegers from Lars Gustafsson, students were supposed to move back and forth between the brain and some feelings and thoughts and build some scenarios out of that.
Along the development of the class we students were reading some of the chapters and then trying to put in draws and graphical representations our own interpretation of them. Topics such as the deepness of the space, the definition of start and end, our short survival as a phenomenon, my time and the time of the world, my consciousness as a poor representation of the world, reflections of the present over the past and the future over the present were deeply mentioned on the books and along the seminar.
Working on this draws was a pleasant but uncertain journey. I always have tried to draw things that are not only realistic but relatable to an object, being or situation but this time the mindset was completely different. Instead, this time I went to what the readings made me question from my perception of life which sometimes can be either radical or fragile and then I tried to express that on draws and images. It was a deep try at connecting my feelings with my hands and it ended up on some peacefulness and chaos.
