Liebestraum N. III
The never-ending search of love of two realities that will finally meet each other.
Synopsis:
Two realities that have been looking for each other are going to finally meet up
in the Liebestraum from Franz Liszt. Meaningful connections make our existence
more dense, chaotic, vibrant and alive, as long as the unhealed wounds don’t
take part on it. In the context of a dream, love does not hesitate to explode and
burns bringing movement to the calmness, appeasing loneliness and linking up
the inner with the outer self. There are no coincidences in life, the ways that are
meant to cross end up converging spontaneously but just when we are
prepared. Are we?
Love dream is an artistic piece in the field of immersive music theatre that is intending to approach storytelling in the emerging media of immersive art. It is an interpretation and visualisation from the famous composition of the german compositor Franz Liszt. Along the video, two different landscapes on two different seasons are displayed in representation of two realities (Belcim and Marcus) that ended up getting to know each other in a dream.
Through contemporary dance, Belcim and Marcus are going to get closer and interact, reflecting on their movements shyness, excitement, reflective moments, togetherness and trust. The landscapes change and so their movements do.
Liebestraum is a short story that develops while musicians from the Hochschule für Musik - Weimar perform live the composition, starting slow but curious, evolving until it reaches the highest point of excitement, switching to melancholic and regressive and finding at the end sweetness on togetherness.
Liebestraum is one of the selected pieces to be presented on Tropicaliszt, an event carried out by a cooperation between the music academy HFM-Franz liszt and Bauhaus University in the city of Weimar on May 11th 2022 in the Zeiss-Planetarium in Jena.
